1. Why am I receiving this SMS/Email notification? /
Didn’t CPFB just informed me about my ElderShield cover termination a few weeks ago? 

It came to our attention that some members are not aware that their ElderShield cover has been terminated upon their enrolment into CareShield Life. This notification therefore serves to remind CareShield Life members of their coverage status. No action is required from you. 


2. Do I need to take any action upon receiving this SMS/Email notification? 

No action is required from you. You are now able to enjoy the better coverage under CareShield Life.


3. I just submitted my application to opt out of CareShield Life. Why am I receiving this SMS/Email notification? 

Your application and the sending of notifications probably happened about the same time.  After your application to opt out of CareShield Life has been processed, your ElderShield cover will be reinstated upon the successful collection of ElderShield premium(s) from your/your payer’s MediSave account. No action is required from you.


4. Why was there no premium refund upon termination of my ElderShield cover?  

Your ElderShield premiums will be refunded if you join CareShield Life and your CareShield Life commencement date is in the same year as your ElderShield policy renewal. For example, if you paid ElderShield Premiums in September 2021, and later joined CareShield Life in December 2021, the ElderShield premiums you have paid in September 2021 will be refunded to you in full. The refund of ElderShield premiums (if any) will take place upon collection of the first CareShield Life premium.


5. Why is CPF Board informing me about the termination of my ElderShield cover now when the cover was terminated a while ago?

When you were auto-enrolled into CareShield Life, we have informed you in the welcome letter sent in November 2021 that your ElderShield cover will be terminated upon your enrolment to CareShield Life.

It came to our attention that some members are not aware that their ElderShield cover has been terminated upon their enrolment into CareShield Life. This notification therefore serves to remind CareShield Life members of their coverage status. No action is required from you.

6. I have already paid for ElderShield premiums for this year. Will I get any refund if I apply to join CareShield Life?

The ElderShield premiums will be refunded if you join CareShield Life and your CareShield Life commencement date is in the same year as your ElderShield policy renewal.

For example, if you paid ElderShield Premiums in September 2021 (for your ElderShield policy renewal in 2021), and later joined CareShield Life in December 2021, the ElderShield premiums you have paid in September 2021 will be refunded to you.

The refund of ElderShield premiums (if any) will take place upon collection of the first CareShield Life premium.
